Guru Nanak Dev Ji founded Sikhism in 1469 and with that, this monotheistic religion is over 500 years old. The fundamental beliefs of Sikhism, articulated in the holy scriptures of the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, comprise of faith on the name of one creator, unity and equality of all mankind. It is based on the spiritual teachings of the first Guru, Guru Nanak Dev Ji. With an aim to promote a deeper understanding of Sikhism and to make Sikh heritage accessible to Sikh youth, Dr Raghbir Singh Nandra formed Peace Foundation in 1997. The foundation takes pride in creating awareness of the rich culture, history and diversity of the Sikhs. It is an attempt to foster an appreciation and support the development of Sikh art and culture.
In late December 2014 a religiously propelled realisation dawned upon Raghbir to excel his mission on Sikh doctrines via electronic applications. Such an App includes the Gurbani and Shabad by Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
The Foundation works to educate and promote greater understanding and appreciation of Sikh history, culture and art among the community at large.
We strive to promote our rich culture by:
To come up with more apps to promote Sikh culture, not only among the Sikhs in United Kingdom, but people across the globe. Besides, we will continue to explore new ideas, opportunities and initiatives that can help us create awareness of rich Sikh history and traditions.
